Through the dark

We move with trembling hands, to promise where the road will end. Still, we step on stones slick with memory, no lantern bright enough through shadows that whisper of fear, hearts beating louder than the silence. Hope is a fragile flame, but even the smallest spark teaches our eyes to see. So we lean into the unseen, trusting the pulse between us, trusting that every stumble is a way forward, not back. And when the night stretches endless, we remember the stars are only found, by those willing to walk through the dark.

The Song I Didn’t Sing

That night, the room was loud with borrowed tunes, voices cracking over someone else’s words. You held the mic, half-smiling, off-key, brave— while I refused, too sure there’d be more time. A month later, silence. No last chorus, no drunken vow belted into static. Just the echo of a laugh I didn’t join, a door I didn’t know was closing then. Maybe I should’ve grabbed the mic, should’ve sung something sad and true— something that would’ve made you turn, something to say  I see the end coming too. Or maybe I should’ve stayed home, let the party spin on without me, so now I wouldn’t have to untangle which part was the beginning of the end, and which part was just a Tuesday.

Peace

A breath between the rushing noise, A hush beneath the storm’s own voice— Not in the quiet I had sought, But in the fray, my peace was caught.

Dear You...

Dear You, I’m writing this note with a suitcase by the door, Packed with the memories I can’t carry anymore. Each shirt still smells like the love we once knew, But I guess even good things outgrow their glue. I folded the laughter, the late-night talks too, Tucked them in corners, like I used to with you. But the zipper won’t close—there’s too much inside, Like the way your name echoes where my heart once lied. I thought love was staying, weathering the storm, But sometimes it’s leaving so we both can reform. So I’ll take this suitcase, this weight off the floor, And learn how to miss you a little bit more. Goodbye, Me

Your name, unfolded

A brief hello, a hollow sound, The warmth we knew is nowhere found. The spark that lit my heart aflame Is now just ash—no love, no name. Yet still my thoughts drift back to you, To shades of what I thought I knew. But time has stripped the gold away, Leaving just dust of yesterday. So here’s goodbye, not said in pain, Just quiet truth—we’re not the same. The past is gone, the ties undone, I’ll walk ahead, my heart moves on.

Collateral

We orbit in fluorescent glow, two ghosts with coffee cups in hand, our dialogue a careful script— the project , the deadline , the plan . You laugh (a sound like breaking glass), I mirror back the hollow tone. The conference room is far too warm— or is it just my blood alone? We parse the past in subtext now: "Remember when…" means I still do. "You look well" means I'm not. The printer hums, and I count tiles— anything to outrun the thought of how your fingers once knew mine now highlighting separate lines. The workday ends. We pack our things. You say we'll "sync again next week." I nod. The wound, though neatly dressed, still weeps beneath this polished speech.

Lost in love

I wandered deep into your eyes, A maze of stars and hidden lies. Your touch, a flame both fierce and cold, Your words, a map I couldn’t hold. Adrift, I search for what was true, A love that binds, a path to you. But shadows linger, hearts betray— I’m lost in love, a castaway.

Whispers in the Corner

Beneath the hum of coffee's tune, We meet at the stroke of afternoon. Unspoken vows linger in the air, But hearts find solace in secrets shared. The world outside—its judgment bold, Yet here we’re warm, though stories unfold. A rhythm of love, so tender, so wrong, Dancing to fate’s forbidden song. Eyes meet, hands brush, a fleeting touch, A dangerous game, too close, too much. Yet in this space, we are whole, Two hearts entwined, one stolen soul.

Fluent in you

I spoke the language of longing, Whispered in tones the wind carried away. Built bridges of silence, unsure of their end, Hoping one day you’d find my way. And now, here you stand, Fluent in the rhythm of my heart. Not just a shadow of what I’d imagined, But a presence, whole and vast. Your touch is no longer a question, Your words no longer a maze. For you speak in a voice I understand, Clear as sunlight through the haze. No more deciphering the shadows, No more guessing the weight of your care. At last, love comes as it should— Unfolding, honest, and bare. So this is what it feels like, When hearts beat in harmony’s thread: To love, and finally, To be loved in return instead.

A fragile flame

I adore you in the quiet glow, A warmth my heart has come to know. Your laughter dances in my chest, A melody that won't find rest. Yet fear, a shadow, grips my mind, What if we falter, fall behind? The weight of love, a tender ache, A leap I'm trembling to take. For in your gaze, the world feels bright, But doubt creeps in to steal the light. So here I stand, a step away, In love, yet scared to let it stay.

I dare not

Do you dream where silence dwells, Where unspoken stories weave their spells? I hold my breath in the quiet ache, Afraid to give, yet bound to take. If I was yours, why fade away? If not, why does your shadow stay? A fragile truth, too sharp to keep— I long for you, yet dare not leap.

A different kind of love

Not the fire that consumes, but the steady glow of embers, a warmth that doesn’t demand but offers, quietly, a place to rest your hands. Not the thrill of a chase, but the calm of arrival, where words aren’t necessary and silence feels full of everything you need to say. It doesn’t call for grand gestures, no roses scattered in its path, but blooms in the smallest spaces: the shared glass of wine, the touch of a sleeve, the knowing glance across a crowded room. It’s the kind of love that grows roots instead of wings, that anchors instead of carries, that holds you steady when the world tips sideways. Not less than the songs of passion, but softer, an echo that lingers long after the crescendo fades. This love is the quiet revolution, the ordinary miracle, the kind that rebuilds what you didn’t know was broken.

The weight of "hi..."

I see your name, a fleeting thought, A memory of the friendship we sought. The urge to type, to simply say, "Hi," and ask how your day is going . The silence grows, a heavy weight, A bridge unbuilt, a twist of fate. Would my words heal, or bring us pain, A spark reignited, or loss again? I miss the way your laughter danced, The warmth we shared, the fleeting chance. To hear your voice, to see your face, To feel, once more, that sacred space. But time has carved its quiet wall, A chasm deep, a painful fall. Would a simple "Hi" be wrong or right? A soft hello or a stormy night? So here I sit, the words unsaid, A battle raging in my head. For friendship once lost is hard to find, But harder still to leave behind.

Silent Chains

I stayed because silence scared me, Loneliness too loud to bear, I clung to hope, though faint and fleeting, That love might still be waiting there. I stayed and lost myself in shadows, A ghost of who I used to be, Till I found truth in quiet spaces— Letting go could set me free.

Where Joy Awakens

In shadows deep, where sorrow lay, A spark emerges, lights the way. Through tangled roots of grief and pain, Hope whispers soft, like summer rain. The sun breaks free, the clouds unwind, A bloom of laughter, hearts aligned. The weight once carried, fades to air, Joy dances lightly, unaware. Each step, a song, each breath, a start, To mend the cracks within the heart. For even after storms descend, The soul finds ways to bloom, to mend.

Unsolicited Why

You came with words, soft and sincere, An apology wrapped in quiet fear. But in the silence, truths were missed, The reasons hidden, the trust dismissed. You spoke of regrets, but left them bare, Without the why, without the care. I don’t need closure, don’t need the why, The trust was broken, and I don’t ask why. The pieces scattered, but I’ll leave them behind, I’ve learned the lessons, I’ve cleared my mind. No need for more words, no need to explain, The trust you shattered can’t be regained.

Fragments of Us

We had plans, unspoken, yet clear, Moments to cherish, year by year. Laughter to share, paths to explore, But time, unkind, closed the door. Your smile held dreams we’d yet to chase, A fleeting glimpse, a fragile space. Our hands once clasped, now drift apart, A quiet ache fills my heart. The world we built, though incomplete, Was ours alone, a bittersweet feat. Now memories linger, soft and true, Of all we’d dreamed but couldn’t do.

Hugging Shadows

I try to hug this body of mine, But it feels like holding a stranger. The weight of years, of silent tears, Turns love into anger. I’ve tried to change, to shrink, to mold, To be something I’m not. But every time, I’m left behind, Alone with what I’ve got. My arms fall down, my heart grows cold, I don’t know how to care. For a body I don’t recognize, For a self I cannot bear. Still, a voice inside whispers soft, "Please don’t let me go." Maybe one day, I’ll learn to stay, And love the me I know.

"So, That Was Dramatic..."

One day, it crushes, a storm in the chest, Breath halts, heart races, no room for rest. You beg the skies for an end to the ache, A whisper to shatter, a soul to forsake. But time, that trickster, it softens the scream, Turns sharp-edged sorrow into a dream. One morning, you wake, and the world feels light, What once was darkness now fades to white. You laugh at the pain that once held you tight, A fleeting shadow, a vanishing night. Grief is a ghost, a lesson, a phase, A chapter that ends, though it lingers for days.

Candle's Flame

You came like fire, too bright, too strong, I let it blind me; I played along. Your words were gold, your touch was sweet, A fleeting high, then quick defeat. It began with magic, a dream come true, Every word, every look, was something new. But magic fades, and so did you, Leaving me wondering what was true.
